FEATURED ACTION FIGURE LINE: TRANSFORMERS LEGACY - CYCLONUS AND NIGHTSTICK

This is the first figure from the TRANSFORMERS LEGACY line that I really liked enough to buy. CYCLONUS is an extremely popular character due to his origin which came about in the 1986 "TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE" animated movie. A group of Decepticons were dumped into deep Space after being forced to retreat after attacking Autobot City on Earth. These Decepticons would find their way to UNICRON who would take control of them and transform their old malfunctioning bodies -reformatting them into new more powerful Transformers. Cyclonus was born and now leads the Armada under Galvatron's( Re-Formatted from Megatron) command.

I really love that HASBRO started releasing certain TRANSFORMERS from the "Generations" and "Legacy" Lines with Collector Style Boxes with Phenomenal Artwork integrated on and inside the box. They provided some great art for this figure.

Another great feature of this Figure is that this is the TARGETMASTER CYCLONUS. After the TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE and Season 4 began on the TV series, the last 5 episodes to end the season " THE REBIRTH", a new evolution of Transformers: HEADMASTERS AND TARGETMASTERS were introduced into the series. I think this story was excellent and a great way to introduce even more new Transformers.

In this series a number of Autobots and Decepticons would become either HEADMASTERS (a humanoid in armor that would transform into its host's head on its Autobot or Decepticon's body.) The TARGETMASTER utilized the same technology but the humanoid would be able to Transform in to it's host's weapon. When the original G1 Cyclonus figure was released- it was a solo figure. It was released again as a TARGETMASTER after "THE REBIRTH" aired. This became an extremely sought after line and the original TARGETMASTER and HEADMASTER figures can fetch a hefty price on the collector market. There have been a couple of releases of Cyclonus after this- but this figure featured in the first time CYCLONUS and his TargetMaster partner NIGHTSTICK have been released together since around 1987.

Of Course Cyclonus transforms into a beautifully designed spaceship as his alternate mode. He comes with his custom blaster as well as  his Target Master Partner-who transforms into an additional weapon for him. Two types of Blast Effects are also included as well as a detailed instruction book and a sticker sheet.

I really have to give props to the accuracy and detail given to this Figure. The Transformers line has continued to please collectors over the years and the homage paid to the G1 line has been fantastic. I'll be bringing you more reviews of TRANSFORMERS that I like- so keep checking back!
