The excitement the arrival of the County Fair is justified as it was fun to visit its first stop in Orange County. The City of Costa Mesa hosts this annual event on 150 acres at The ORANGE FAIR AND EVENT CENTER. Approximately 4.3 million visitors make their way to the fairgrounds each year and this year's theme is dubbed " Feel the Sunshine." This year's OC FAIR will run from July 15- August 14. 2022.
Each Year- The OC FAIR averages about 1 million visitors during the month. The first Fair took place in 1916 in Santa Ana. Costa Mesa began hosting the Fair in 1953.
Guests can enjoy lots of rides to choose from. There's a good variety from mild to scary depending on your level of thrill seeking. There's also quite a few that will give you great elevated views from above. The rides require tickets which can be purchased and you can also purchase a wristband that allows you to ride all day.
Don't forget the Carnival Games! There's no shortage of games that will test your luck. The chance of winning a Carnival Prize is one of the most alluring things about attending the Fair.
Of course the food cannot be forgotten! Your choices for edible treats are seemingly infinite. Cotton Candy, Ice Creams, Churros, Funnel Cake, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Pizza, Nachos, BBQ, Popcorn, Corn on the Cobb. You can also enjoy specialty items like: Turkey Legs, Deep Fried Oreos, Frog Legs, and Krispy Kreme Burgers! Bring your appetite- there's endless food choices at the Fair. If you need to cool off- there's a Log- Water ride to enjoy (view from Ferris Wheel) As you can see- there's so much to enjoy. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of Fairground to cover.
There are also numerous rides and activities for the children including Art Shows, Crafts, lots of farm animals to see and interact with. You'll also find numerous vendors to make souvenir purchases. The Fair also hosts Entertainers of all kinds including concerts by celebrities. The next destinations for the Fair if you miss it- will be in Pomona and Riverside County.
