POP CULURE WE LOVE: MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS

Go-Go POWER RANGERS!-The Live Action Color-esqe show that seemed to encompass themes we were already familiar with (Voltron, Transformers, Godzilla-style Fights and Martial arts Cartoons)-the show was destined to be the hit it was- it was actually much bigger to the surprise of many-including me. The story centered around a group of High Schoolers who were chosen to represent each one of RANGERS which they would "Morph" into when the Bad Guys would show up to cause trouble. The RANGERS were all highly skilled Martial Artists whose feet and fists would fly right into the
"Putty Patrol's" faces.

The Putty's were usually just a warm up or distraction for the RANGERS with a "Ro-Beast"- (see VOLTRON) style Monster that awaited them. They were also created ,controlled, and dispatched  by the Maniacal    "LORD ZED" and his zany crew.

Once the Giant Monster appeared,it was too much for for the RANGERS and they would form "MEGAZORD" (**each Ranger also piloted a special Dino Mecha)-again in the Spirit of Voltron that would combine to deal with rampaging Monster once and for all.



This was very entertaining show as it blended action with comedy as the plots were pretty laughable as the episode rolled on- but in the end The Power Rangers continued to evolved and have cemented themselves as Pop Culture Icons that many have continued to enjoy.
