Let me begin by stating that many of my heroes see the world through different mediums-or in this case- lenses. I'd like to introduce you to a phenomenal Photographer whom I had the pleasure to be introduced to: D STEVENS. You may not know his face- but it is likely that you've seen some of his work.

For over 3 decades, the prolific imagery captured by D.STEVENS has taken him all over the world-many times over. He's shot images of the poverty in Haiti, the moment a crack baby was born in a Hospital in South Central Los Angeles, to the tension-filled streets of Belfast, to the covered faces of KKK Members during a Cross Burning. He brings real uncensored imagery that tells the real story.
In the photojournalism realm, Stevens has exhibited with many of the greats: Bernice Abott, Walker Evans, Dorthea Lange, Alfred Stieglitz, and Gordon Parks (one of my favs). He's represented by the G-Ray Hawkins Gallery. For News Assignments he's repped by Zuma Press in The United States and by SIPA Press in Paris, France.

He's been recognized by numerous International Organizations with a multitude of awards including the Images of the Year Selection for the Time Magazine cover story entitled "Kids who sell Crack" and the Foreign Press Club for Newsweek International coverage in Belfast.
In Advertising and Key Photography, Stevens has photographed over 40 movie posters for companies including Columbia Pictures, Sony SPE, Warner Brothers, Imagine Entertainment, Universal Pictures, Screen Gems, HBO, New Line Cinema, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight, Miramax, CIBY 2000, and more.

I felt extremely honored to have been introduced to Mr. Stevens by a

Mutual Friend. He made time for us to meet in his Studio in Santa Monica, CA- and I got to soak up a plethora of knowledge listening to the unique stories he shared with me surrounding the images that have made his career so special. His Rack of Movie Posters in his living room was awesome. He is a Historian that I have a great amount of respect for-and his knowledge and insight make him a true pioneer in his selected fields. The poster of Lawrence Fishburne as Ike Turner from "What's Love Got to Do With It?" Is my favorite.
