The Cyberlounge For Artists
We're always on the search for creative dining experiences and we found a great one hosted monthly at LUNA-MODERN MEXICAN KITCHEN. There are two (2)locations to choose from: Corona and Rancho Cucamonga,CA. Tequila is the signature spirit of LUNA and the design of the restaurants seems to feel like the inside of a stylish distillery with its deep color choices for the walls which display some amazing artworks displaying images rooted in Mexico's Rich History.
MONTHLY TEQUILA TASTING & DINNER
We chose the Corona Location to experience this intriguing dinner event and it did not disappoint. Our server Robert professionally welcomed us and gave a detailed rundown of the the menu and of course the evening's choice Tequila:
DON JULIO-a PREMIUM CLASS Tequila that is incredibly smooth. Welcome Cocktails followed which was crafted with Don Julio Silver Tequila,lime,organic agave,and infused hibiscus flower syrup.This was then followed by a Flight from the DON JULIO Blanco(Silver), Reposado and Anejo brands which was served along the first course which was Opah Hibiscus Aguachile(Fresh Opah Moonfish marinated in a key lime and citruss-Pasilla Pepper Cure with sliced Cucumber and Micro Cilantro). It was fantastic new experience.
Another masterfully crafted cocktail arrives before the Main Course, made with DON JULIO Reposado,lime,organic agave, mango puree,and garnished with mint. The Main Courses offered this night were Squid and Soy Chorizo Risotto or Tandoori Lamb Chops. Both dishes were excellent fusions of other Cultural dishes with distinct Mexican flavors with sauces like Tomato guajillo tomate,hisbiscus marinade,and tomatillo mint sauce. CHEF JAVIER REYES' dishes and presentations were perfectly executed and paired for each from the flight of DON JULIO Tequilas.
So....Believe it or not this fantastic meal was preceded by a Dessert Cocktail which was made with DON JULIO Anejo Tequila, Lemon,Organic Agave,Blueberry Puree, and Sparkling Water.The Dessert itself Jamaica Poached Pear-(Fresh Pear poached in sweet Jamaica Glaze with Piloncillo Ice Cream, Sweet Mascarpone Flowers and Caramel Ice)was so gorgeous you just couldn't help to stare at it for awhile before taking it down. This was a most pleasant experience at every level.
