If you visit the Dominican Republic- you absolutely need to book the excursion to Saona Island. Located off the southeastern tip of the island, it is part East National Park known for its Coral Reefs and Palm Tree lined beaches.

After you book your day you decide to go, your tour operator will pick you up from your location and you'll take a tour bus to the region of Bayahibe- a Fishing Village where you'll board a speedboat that will take you to the Island of Saona.

Enjoy the amazing breeze as your speedboat heads towards Saona. The landscape around you is breathtaking. 

As you continue to your final destination, you'll make a stop in a shallow part of the ocean which Dominicans dub "Their Natural Pool". You have the option to exit the boat and enjoy the water which is about waist-high to most. Guests an enjoy complimentary Rum and Coke - which the crew serves. You may even find Starfish at your feet in the sand.

I highly recommend enjoying this adventure when you visit the Dominican Republic. It's a full day, but enjoyable all the way through. There's so many excursions you can enjoy, and Saona Island is a must do! Its easy to find a tour operator and the experience is unforgettable.
